Winter Black

The middle of winter is one of my favorite times of the year. Looking out at the leafless trees set against the hazy grey early morning light is one of the most comfortable feelings in the world, especially if you’ve got a hot cup of coffee and warm slippers. We don’t really get snow around here, but winter had its own charms in this part of the world. I love the way the color black fits starkly and beautifully against this dreamy backdrop. So here is some lovely black!

Vintage Find

I was super thrilled that 2020 started with this gorgeous find at a local flea market. It’s always wonderful to find something this lovely, and in such great condition. I am very picky about floral design, but Hungarian style embroidery (most folk embroidery, actually) is my favorite. I haggled a bit (an absolute must at flea markets), and got a great deal. This, combined with a new plant friend, made waking up early on a Saturday totally worth it!

Vintage vs. Junk

A comfortably cluttered room can have an appeal of its own, but let’s be honest, some people equate vintage with junk. And it shows. Being into vintage does not mean having a home full of garbage.
