I haven’t been posting as much as I would like, but life has been busy. There have been so many changes, and so many more still to come. I am trying not to stress too much, and enjoy everything. I’ll write more about it later. 🙂 It also occurs to me that I failed to update my New Year goals, whoops. here is last year’s, which shows what I managed to do, and this year’s goals. Chicago was on my list for the year, so in May I went to see it. Here are some pictures from the trip. Chicago is an interesting city, I absolutely love the architecture, the dizzying fire escapes, the old […]

Lulu Blue is 17, and I feel like it’s all going by too quickly. I just want to pause everything for a minute. I am lucky to have her. She is kind, which I think is one of the most important traits in a person. All the other stuff, the get-by-in-the-real-world stuff is learned as we face successes and challenges, but kindness, you either have it or you don’t, and she has it. That makes me proud.
Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but I am seriously in love with the living room of this house, not to mention the dining room windows. And a heated garage? Why not? The skylights and the big windows with a view of the trees are so pretty. Usually I am not a huge fan of the fireplace bricks that take up a whole wall, but somehow its works here, and same with the floors. The fact that this dining room is pretty close to a glass room works for me. Who doesn’t want a couple of trees growing into the side of their dining room? And of course I normally wouldn’t feel a great […]
This place is so beautiful. The skylights take my breath away, not to mention that there’s a little chicken coop in the back. Have I mentioned how much Lulu Blue and I want to have a chicken? And two fireplaces. Two. The bathrooms are just okay, but here is a little tour of my favorite spots. I love the open, simple feel, the barn doors in the bedroom are so cool. And it’s in the woods, which is okay by me. The town of Felton is adorable, and definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. It’s been a while since I have been there, so I think it’ll be time soon. Until then, […]
The best thing about working in real estate is that I often get a chance to look at some amazing places that come up for sale in my area. The worst thing about working in real estate is that I often get a chance to look at some amazing places that come up for sale in my area. It’s a blessing and a curse. This incredible loft apartment came on the market recently, and I cannot stop drooling. I mean seriously. The exposed brick and concrete wall, the wood beamed ceiling. That huge window bringing in all the natural light, and I am not usually a fan of tiled floors, but these Saltillo tile floors are […]
Last weekend I took a little trip up to Grass Valley/Nevada City to see Devandra Banhart in concert, and it was every bit as wonderful as I had hoped it would be. The concert was incredible, completely worth the drive. I scored a signed copy of the Cripple Crow record! I stayed in a little vintage airstream, which was absolutely lovely. The tiny space was a bit intimidating at first, but I quickly realized just how little space I actually need to be comfortable. The airstream had a little bathroom, but they also had a composting outhouse, which was actually pretty cool. As a kid, I had a 200+ year old summer house in the […]
