So this summer isn’t exactly going according to plan. Lulu Blue and I usually start talking about our summer plans right after new years, and we usually come up with a few things that we both want to do. This summer was actually going to be fairly laid back, but here are a few things I love about summer, and though we can’t do most of them there are a couple of things that we can do that will be fun anyway.
One of the best things about California summers are the beaches. We usually spend some time on various beaches. We love going to the lake in the summer. We’ve done this a few times over the years. It’s nice because it isn’t super far, we can usually rent a cabin and spend a week swimming in warm lake water.We were most looking forward to a road trip. This is one of our favorite things to do, and this summer we thought long and hard about what our summer trip would be and we settled on hitting the road. The last time we had a road trip was summer 2018 and we have a ton of fun memories. We did consider renting a little rv and going anyway, but it really seems smarter to just stay home this summer. As most of you are probably aware, concerts are getting canceled all over this summer. As sad as Lulu Blue and I are about missing concerts that we’d been looking forward to, I’m thinking we could have an at home crazy mother-daughter dance party. Guest list: 2. We have both completed our summer reading lists. yay! I am always unsatisfied with how little time I have to read (for fun) and I am hoping that this summer I can actually do this! This summer I am finally going to print all the pictures that I have been storing digitally. I really don’t think that anything beats having actual photos to look at, and we have so few of them. We have taken some amazing pictures over the years and I look forward to having hard copies of them.
Our summer will be pretty low-key, but it will be amazing anyway. If anyone has some other good ideas or plans, I’d love to hear them!
