Summer is coming to an end, and it’s been yet another interesting one. I’m always excited when summer comes, but it doesn’t take long for me to get sick of the heat and start missing my sweaters, tights and boots. This year is no exception. I am so ready to say goodbye to the heat and feel the cool night breezes and some lovely rain. Of course, we haven’t had rain around here in some time, and the whole California draught thing is really starting to wear on me. I feel completely dried out. I miss seasons! But still, I know I’ll feel better when I start seeing the leaves turn and (hopefully) the creeks […]

Some things will never change! Flying can still be really fun and really uncomfortable, seeing new places will always take my breath away, big cities always make me feel completely free, and nature always makes me feel more peaceful. I got all of that over the past few days. NYC is beautiful! DC reminded me of some European cities I have been to, but NYC is definitely all American. Seeing the White House, and the monuments around DC was certainly a positive experience for me, but nothing like what I felt as I stood on the Brooklyn Bridge. I have wanted to see the Brooklyn Bridge since I was a kid, and obsessively reading anything […]
It has been an eternity since I have left this lovely little town of mine. For someone who quite enjoys a trip, even a short one, this wasn’t easy. But I was a good girl, I followed all the rules and did all the right things (with one notable exception, but I’ll cover all that later), and here is my reward! I am a huge fan of Devendra Banhart, and the man is playing a concert in October! It’s not exactly close by, but it’s not super far. I would say it is the perfect distance to plan a little weekend get away around the event, and so I did. And boy, am I excited. […]
Once again, I am behind on everything. I am trying not to let it get to me too much, but honestly, I am a little sad today and I could use a little cheering up. So this post is just a few little things that made me smile. I am going to try to sleep away this little slump. Love, Maca
Style Inspiration She came as part of the British Invasion in the 1960s, taking the world by storm with her voice, beauty and strength. She rose and fell a few times, but she wasn’t ever really broken. And she had seriously cool style, and pretty neat hair! Here are a few of my favorite snaps of Marianne Faithfull. There is just something about that cool 60s girl style that will forever be inspirational to me. And I seriously love that hair, and not just because the bangs+long hair of that era is pretty much my go-to style, one that I have recently returned to. So much better. Love, Maca
What lovely things have been on my mind lately? I’m sleepy. It’s almost Tuesday. Love, Maca
