Bathrooms

If you have kids, chances are you won’t be able to use your bathroom in peace for about 10 to 12 years. I am sorry, all I can say is that it will pass. If you are anything like me, and your kid is older, you probably spent that first year of bathroom freedom throwing all kinds of things is your bathwater, reading in the bath, and trying to figure out if there’s some way to cram an armchair into your tiny bathroom (there wasn’t). After the initial anxiety of wondering if my child was going to set something, or herself, on fire while I soak in 45 dollars worth of oils and flowers wears […]

Belts

Maybe this is what you think of when you think of a belt, but I have come to appreciate belts as one of the most versatile accessories in my wardrobe. I cannot think of how many times I put together an outfit, feel as though something is missing, and pull it all together by adding a belt. Not to mention that belts are any vintage lover’s best friend. A belt can pull a vintage piece into the modern day. I have a lot of vintage outfits that I would not ever consider wearing without a belt. And finally, belts are so easy to work with because they can be worn with pretty much anything, and […]

Brigitte Bardot

Style Inspiration B.B is what most people think of when they think sex symbol. There is pretty good reason for that. Known as the “first and most liberated woman of post-war France” means you’ve pretty much got it all. And she certainly does. She is beautiful, and intelligent. And she has used her fame to promote animal rights. B.B retired form the spotlights, but not before she established herself forever as a fashion icon. She has good taste, and he outfits have always been flawless, but I prefer her more simple looks. It really says a lot when a woman can throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater and look absolutely gorgeous. Also, […]

Yoga At Home

As this pandemic carries on (probably into next year), we have all learned how to live our lives in the new normal. If we spent the first couple of months in our sweats, binge watching Tiger King, and eating countless containers of Chinese take out, that is not a sustainable way to live. Eventually we began to learn how to function productively in this weird time. Part of that is physical activity! I love to run, but I am strictly an indoor, treadmill runner. I LOVE being outside, walking, and just enjoying nature, but that is my way of relaxing. I do not consider that exercise. I also do yoga and was beginning to get […]

Pause

I know this has been a frustrating, stressful, difficult, confusing, and likely depressing time for all of us. The stress has been pretty much non-stop for a couple of weeks here. I felt pretty overwhelmed and took some time to concentrate on my finals (done!) and getting Lulu Blue all set up and ready for the beginning of her school year. Her school has decided to begin with distance learning, which is both good and bad. I have to admit that I would not have felt super comfortable sending her back to in-person school, and as our school district was still figuring out how the new school year would be handled, we did throw around […]
