It’s almost here. This year has been an interesting one. It has had its share of ups and downs, probably more so for more people than the average year. I can say with certainty that it has been my super strong support network that has kept us afloat. There have been times when I clearly understood just how bad things could get without this kind of support. It’s my niece’s birthday, and she asked me to make her favorite cake, so of course I said yes. I couldn’t just make a boring old cake, though. I wanted to make it more fun. She is not a little kid, but I feel like with everything going on in the world right now, we could all use a little cheering up. Since blowing out candles is pretty much off the table right now, I though this might be a nice substitute. We have rain! A lot of it. A real downpour. It is so wonderful, and refreshing. I love the rain, and I have been waiting for the rainy season to start. It’s difficult to say how the rainy season will turn out here in the Bay Area. A lot of the time, it is pretty dry. But oh how wonderful it is when we get a lot of good rain. I have been starting to consider buying a new car. I absolutely adore my car, but there are little things that I am not thrilled with (its a little loud inside when I am on the highway, and the trunk is nonexistent), but it is definitely a great car. Good on gas, small, and very reliable. I would like to pass it on to Lulu Blue since she will be 16 next month (that’s going to have to be a post on its own) and ready to get her license.
